The Sembawang Wind Orchestra, formerly known as the Sembawang Symphonic Band, was inaugrated in 1992 by Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for
Defence, MP for Sembawang GRC. Being the pioneer community band in Singapore, the orchestra comprises of players from all walks of life and ages ranging from 14 to 30 years old.
Besides being actively involved in various activities pertaining to the community like National Day Celebrations, Constituency Day and Family Day, the orchestra also performs in a series of annual concerts where the Deputy Prime Minister as the
guest-of-honour. The orchestra made its first CD audio recording in 1996, and was awarded the People's Association Youth Movement
(PAYM) Excellence Award (Group Category) in the same year. The orchestra has made performing tours in
Chiangmai, Thailand, and in Brisbane, Australia. In Brisbane, the orchestra took part in the Southern Cross Music Festival and was awarded a Medal of Distinction.
The orchestra aims at being a semi-professional ensemble and as ambassadors to the Sembawang Community Club. The orchestra has a mission to be a centre for musical activities and muscial aspirations to all walks of life.

The Sembawang CC Archery Club was founded on 4th June 2000. It is the first Archery Club in northern Singapore to be formed by a Community Club. The club was formed to cater to the needs of the students of the Archery Course organized by the Sembawang CC Youth Group. Another objective of the club is to promote archery to the residents in the northern region of Singapore.
To date, the club has a total of 40 members. With the support of its parent body, the Sembawang CC Youth Executive Committee, the Club has organised Archery courses; free shooting sessions and Archery clinics for the residents.
With the strong support of the Sembawang Community Club and Youth Executive Committee, the Archery Club will strive harder to become one of the prominent archery clubs in Singapore.

The Sembawang CC Guitar Club was set up to help aspiring guitarists and fellow musicians to increase their knowledge in music. The club allows its members to show their creativity and technical abilities in music. Through the club, you can share musical ideas with fellow members and showcase your talent. Performances are held annually for the public to let the guitar members gain experience through performing. The
most recent performance was held this year at Sembawang CC on 1st June 2002. Over 300 audiences showed up to show their support.
Students will be able to learn the different styles, techniques of guitar playing and basic music theory from the instructor, Mr. Chow Yew Kim. Mr. Chow is a very experienced musician and teacher who have over 50 students and many of them had performed at various venues.
The Guitar Club is looking forward to expand their membership, so that fellow musicians can come together and share their musical interests. Students can form band groups to practice cover songs or even get involved in song-writing to develop their creativity. The purpose of the club is to act as a
hub for people to come together, and share their interests and experiences.
